Processing – Tentacle Bouquet

Thumbnail - Click me

Cylinders shaped with randomized 3D cubic Bezier splines and sine waves. Later it would be nice to develop on the tentacle movement a good deal more with kinematics and possibly springs… And yeah, Robert Hodgins’ work is the shit (eg, this).

Coded in Java with Processing.

May 12, 2009: Updated for Mac compatibility, grudgingly. xP

Great work, and it runs in the browser! :-)

I’ve been playing with tentacles too — studying OpenFrameworks, OpenGL and GLSL. The latest is here: http://blog.omine.net/2009/04/04/audio-reactive-glsl-tentacles/
